Can someone remind me of the name of the adjustable wrenches made in Spain that are really nice? I think they make and rebrand them for Snap-0n.

See also Channellock's adjustables (the ones with the grip, the Code Blue line). They're made in Spain by either Bahco or Irega, and are top line.

The Channellock adjustable wrenches are made be Irega. Snce they're labelled Channellock I preume warranty would be less of an issue down the road.

All Irega does is make adjustable wrenches.

Snap On and Proto are what I have in the adjustable wrench category. Both have stood the test of time. I have an old Williams 15 inch at work that's been a good one too.

I just bought a 15" CL adjustable off Amazon.They are made by Irega and are excellent quality. Watch the Amazon pricing - it varies a lot from day to day. Use camelcamelcamel.com to check for pricing history for Amazon. It gives you an idea about best pricing.

I don't own any new SO, but own a couple USA and Spain made blue points. I like them, but see no advantage over craftsman. Old diamonds are nice. Crescents seem so so no matter the vintage. 99% of the time I use a 12" and 15". My 18" ( which I apparently lost) and my 24" get used a fair amount here and there. I have ump teen adjustable smaller that are dust collectors.

i seldom use an adjustable wrench for a wrench.

i have a 15" CM, several 12"-15" iregas that are 35 years old, couple 4"-6" matco, and snapon.

possibly the least used hand tools i have.

Another point in favor of the Channellock branded Iregas is their width. I have the 6.25" pair, and they open up to over 30 mm. Most of my larger adjustables (up to 12") don't open that wide.

I bought a pair of the Channellock brand a few months ago.I prefer it over some of the other USA offerings I've used over the years.

I've got the Craftsman Professionals and couldn't be more pleased. I have the USA Crescent...NOT impressed at all. My Chinese Stanley adjustable from Wal Mart is better.

I saw one at White Cap construction supply. It looked real heavy duty. Reminded me of a Proto or a Klein.

I have a set of Irega from 6" to 12" which are marked as Britool, they are 20 years old and still earning their keep.

Be aware that the chrome and phosphate ones have opposite threads on the adjusters which can lead to confusion is you have a mix of types.


Think it just comes down to which ones you like the look and feel of.
I also have a couple of wide jaw Bacho and a wide jaw Irega with the rubber grips, I prefer the Irega, its more comfortable in the hand.

i have a bunch of "good" adjustables... my most used are a newer(8 years?) 10" Cman and a 12" Napa USA(+10 years)

both are very well made and rock solid "bite"

IMHO these are the real McCoys..."invented by Bahco"...made in Sweden. But since Bahco is now a part of SO, they´ve moved production to Spain. So look at Fleamarkets...:dunno:

I've got Wright from 4" up to 15". The 4" one is made in Spain. The others are WF.

I prefer the flat bottom design more so then the wrenches with the V shapes because you get a deeper throat with the Flat bottom.

I've got various ones but the ones that stand out are the bahco's as shown above and I've got a 4" Kennedy that if I have no choice but to use one that is my go to

I have various adjustables. I dont use them much. But i have a set of craftsmans ive had for a long time that i use at work. With a 4in diamond a 15in crescent (older us made nice) and a 18in mac(over priced but nice). I have mostly diamonds at home from 6in to 24in very nice adjustables.
