a good use for adjustables is when large bolts or fittings are invloved. many times an adjustable will be thicker than standard wrenches, making use of a greater surfance area on whatever bolts or fittings you are working with. also, its ALOT cheaper to buy one or two decent/good adjustable wrneches, then buying 2 full sets of large/extra large combination wrenches. not very easy to tote all that around either..

I use them quite a bit, but unlike most here I never use on regulators. I use tanks wrenches and keep them with the regulators.

Don't get me wrong, those are awesome and I love mine, but at the end of the day, they are not a replacement for an adjustable.

true....... now that I think about it, whenever I need to use a cheater bar, I go digging in the box and pull out the adjustable.

Whenever I have enough clearance. I used a 12" this morning to change her oil and filter, more commonly I use them on my machine tools

I use mine primarily for bending heavy guage sheet metal on collision damage. I also use them frequently for gas cylinders and as a leverage device

Those are worthless today, you will need a metric adjustable.

My newer ones are stamped both SAE and metric.
Debating whether to sort the older ones into my sae drawers.

I use mine quite a bit, on the tank regs like a lot of you, a lot of the plumbing around here. I also like the plier wrench, pretty handy, but not a outright replacement of the adjustables.

I keep a couple in my truck toolbox. Cuts down on the number of combination wrenches I need to keep.

I keep a few sizes of adjustable wrenches hung up on my peg board. I usually use them when I am tinkering with something and don't want to walk to the tool box. I use them a lot at work for AN fittings, believe it or not. You just have to be careful with them, keep them clamped tight to the fitting, and buy good quality.

Use them all the time, mostly in pluming applications. Replacing faucet stems, shower heads, etc. Never in automotive applications but all my guys at work use them daily as facility maintenance mechanics.
