Anyone have any experience with vintage stools? I have a very nice Adjustrite stool that I would like to put casters on. I would like to remove the original feet without destroying them. How do they come off? The actual foot and the rubber piece appear to be a single piece with a stud through the center. I have tried pulling straight up but they do not move much.

I will assume they are press fit in the tube.

If so.... Get a short piece of steel pipe just a bit bigger ID than your existing tube.. and split it in half.. to make a "Punch" you hit w a hammer.

You could just use an old large straight blade screwdriver maybe..or even scrap piece of like 1/4" steel.. but the 1/2 pipe idea will mar the existing feet the least.

I would try that.

It is also possible that they pressed in a nut on a one way hammer in flange in the tube.. then threaded in the foot assembly.

If so, try a pipe wrench and see if it twist unscrews.

I am only using logical guessing here, may or may not be right.
