Ads, logged in, and font sizes?

This finally bugged me enough to ask what’s going on vs. what should be.

Using Safari on IOS (iPad). I am logged in, forum knows who I am, shows my avatar in the banner area. I think this means I shouldn’t see any ads. I don’t mind seeing ads, but that’s not the point.

Usually, threads look like:



Logged in, no ads. But sometimes it changes to:



Still logged in, but now with ads.

I can switch back and forth by refreshing the page. Each reload, sometimes there are ads, sometimes there are no ads.

Ads themselves don’t bug me, I just ignore them. What bugs me is that some of the ads reset the font size to “small”, like this one:



This happens in the threads, also in the forum thread list. It happens in all forums, all threads. Page refresh until an ad that doesn’t reset the font size works, but seems like shouldn’t be needed.

I believe the only place you will see ads when logged in is at the top of Free Parking. The last I knew, that's how Ryan had it set up.

Yeah, in chrome I/m getting it on the bottom. On a widescreen monitor its 20% reduction of the viewing real-estate. I need to manually click it Down every page view. Can't just scroll doom to proceed like most ads.
Definitely time to block ads.

I am experiencing the same issue, I switched to DuckDuckGo from Edge and it stopped.

Seems that crome removed its own default adblockers with the latest update. My phone updated last night. I'm getting adds on most forums now.

Got ads on my iPad in chrome, but they disappeared after closing the tab then reopening it. Have not tried the phone yet. Was logged in w dogface showing.

Getting them on my phone, reloading tab did not fix.

Using Microsoft Edge and just started getting the ads popping up from bottom of page or dropping down from top. Very annoying. Does anyone know how to block them or stop them from populating the screen?

The ad banner at the bottom just started for me today also. MacBook using Safari. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

I'll happily pay more to not have the ads. On my desktop and on my phone. Really detract from the experience.. @Ryan
