So what sort of numbers are just people looking but not logging in compared to those logged in members?
Thanks for your hard work.
I'll think of you when we visit Austin in December. I plan on gaining weight at the Salt Lick.

I wouldn't mind if there were ads on the site even when signed in. I recognize that it's usually the only way to monetize a forum. This site has provided me with hours of entertainment and ideas.
The only time it bothers me is when the ads get out of control. I go to another forum that is so loaded with flash ads down both sides, top and bottom, and with keyword links, that it really bogs the site down.

Honestly, I don't want folks to have to do anything. If they have shown the interest to register, I don't wanna bother them with ads at all.

Have you got a way for logged in members to choose to see them (Besides logging off)?
The Garage Journal has actually gotten pretty damned active. Here's our numbers from last month:
Pageviews: 15,698,492
Unique Users: 2,164,192
% of traffic registered: 26.73

Did you ever think that this wild idea of Garage Journal would turn into such a way of life for so many of us???Interesting to see the Adverts. I take it Ryan you may not know what runs. I see plenty of local Aussie stuff as I log on.
They will be tied in to your local ISP number.
Pretty common stuff for most sites to do.
The thing is, I already feel like whenever I am on the internet that I am fending off axe wielding marketers trying to sell me something at every corner. To me, it's gross... Really gross... And frankly, my motive here is pretty selfish. But at the end of the day, it only effects non-registered users. I can live with that. *I think*
I am now getting this popping up on my page at random ever since Ryans changes.

Any idea why?
I am logged in fulltime so It's not when I'm logged off.
I am on several different forums, and that is how most handle it, ads for guests, no ads for signed in members, and usually a caption below the ad "members do not see these ads".
Though to be completely honest, I have ad blockers installed on my browsers so I do not see ads anyway, only when I am on my phone or a work computer.
Now I need to log out to see what ads come up in my threads!
Go to Quick Links and pick "Who's Online". You'll get a count.
Right this instant, it is 333 members and 721 Guests.
