Ads When Opening Forum

Am I the only one getting popup ads when I click on the forum header?

I have to click back and then on Forum again to get in everytime.

On my tablet and phone when I click on a thread title I get a ad page instead of the thread, I have to back out and reclick to get into the thread and is really annoying.

I also have been getting drop down ad's and only happens in free parking.

Only difference is I'm using Ad Block Origin with Firefox. Same end result though.

You people are infected? I don't use ad block either.

And for the record... I do a lot of **** so don't blame that either.

The normal ads on GJ are pretty goddamn obnoxious, but if you're seeing ads that actually keep you from using the website, you might have some sort of infection.


In any case, Use uBlock Origin, not Adblock Plus. There are a few other similar "pure" projects out there, and several with very similar names that are just viruses trying to confuse people, so be extremely careful and research your adblocker thoroughly to make sure you're getting the right one.

I'm going to say this... If you use any type of adblocker because of any type of ads you are getting.

You are probably infected.

Some websites include ad space... like any Google owned website, facebook, etc. As far as I know (MODS PLEASE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG). GJ only shows AD space if you are not signed in.

I VERRRRY rarely see an ad, if at all. Been using ABP for over a decade and never had a complaint

When I sign in the first post I visit a full page ad appears and I have to wait for it to time out. Also getting banner ad at top of page. Viewing with my tablet.

Just started this week and it’s only on this site. Every time I click on a different thread I get a whole page ad before the page displays. I’m using an iPhone and I am signed in.

Ive been getting them on my phone only on this site in free parking when i open up a thread. Doesnt do it everytime, but i have to scroll over to the top right and X out of it. sort of a hassle and it just started this week.

I only have noticed it on my phone, and it is only when I am on the home page and click forum. I am using Chrome. I will have to try some type of adblocker.
