I'm sure this has been posted but if not here's a code for Advance Auto Parts 30% off of orders $50 or more w/ a max savings of $50.

TRT30

I ended up saving $42.47 off of a pair of Armstrong flex head ratchets. :)

ES123 still appears to be valid for $20 off of $50+ (a 40% savings at 50 bucks).

WOW that's really good! That code gives other offers too:

"Applied Promotion: ES123
- $10 off orders of $30 or more
- $20 off orders of $50 or more
- $30 off orders of $100 or more!"

$10 off orders over $30
$25 off orders over $70
$40 off orders over $110. Online only

This one works out better in some instances.

Others have said it on here that AA prices are much higher to begin with so it's not really a deal.

I checked it out for a car battery and it came out to $100 but not including tax so like $108 for a battery is not a huge savings but it's something.

I buy a LOT of stuff off of Amazon. They usually have better prices and their Prime shipping is great!

As far as Advance Auto you're right about them having higher prices. I guess it depends on what you're buying and what coupon code you're using. I'll use my purchase as an example. I bought 2 Armstrong flex head ratchets from Advance:

10-994: $63.99 w/o discount; $44.79 with discount
11-994. $77.59 w/o discount; $53.42 with discount
--------------------------------------------------
Tax: $5.95
Shipping: $0.00
----------------
Total: $105.06

The best prices I could find was from Harry Epstein:

10-994: $45.00
11-994: $58.85
----------------
Tax: $0.00
Shipping: $11.50
-----------------
Total: $115.35

I didn't save a lot but hey $10.29 is $10.29 back in MY pocket....for MORE tools!

Advance does tend to have higher prices, but if you find a good coupon code it seems to me that you can usually get a better deal in the end. Right now I'm looking at a leak down tester, and Advance is about $25 more than the cheapest I've found, but there's a $30 off coupon I can apply to it.

If I add a few things to it and get my order over $75, I get free shipping and will save another $10!

That what I've been finding. I was going to buy a code scanner with the 20% off coupon. Turned out to be cheaper at Amazon. MSCDirect.com is the same way mark everything up then give 30% off if you buy $300 worth of stuff.

Just an aside here, but have you considered building your own leak down tester? I think I'm going to build one of these soon... If you already have a compression tester you can use those hoses for the spark plug hole connection.

FWIW. I purchased my Optima Yellow top using Advanced coupons and came out ahead of almost everywhere (including SAMS). A coworker purchased a standard battery for an economy car with the coupons cheaper than everywhere else he checked. Coupon + In store pickup = reduced price, no shipping & no core. In my area I can turn around and sell my core to the local interstate battery store for $7-$10

EDIT: Was just pricing batteries for my truck. The above $40 off works for batteries over $110 but they stick you with a core charge now. I don't mind the core charge, but don't know if I can get it taken off at the store since payment is made online? Also take note of the tiered savings. The "silver" battery is cheaper than the regular battery with the A124 promotion.

SWEET! Thanks for the hookup.

Needed a pair of leaf spring shackles for my truck. List price was $68 a piece. After the promo coded, it ended up being $101.07 delivered. It was a couple of bucks cheaper than even the cheapest shipped options on eBay.

Be smart about it too-I was buying all four rotors for my wife's car and rear rotors and pads for my truck making it a bout a total of $345 without the coupon, and with the 30%(max $50), it was $50 off that $345.

That was fine, but splitting up my order into two orders gave me a total of around $87 off instead of only $50 for one order :)

And free shipping too over $100, so I don't even need to go running to the local store to pick them up.

Thanks for the code OP.

Thinking about using this on the metric Gearwrench Completer Set 9601 to match the SAE completer set I got from Woot. Reg. Price = $117.59. With the $40 off, it's $77.59 w/ free shipping and no tax since Advance isn't in Texas anymore. That's cheaper than I've seen elsewhere since shipping is free.

Has anyone else seen a better deal on these?

They will credit your card when you bring in the old battery and your receipt.

Check out Oriellys webpage. Top right corner shows a clearance section. I show < $40 for the set plus shipping. There is a GJ thread about this clearance section. I believe some have saved shipping via the store. My local store has these on the shelf for alot more and wasn't very responsive to me suggesting the clearance price.

Hopefully this picture isn't against some rule? I'll gladly remove if it is.

Yup. I picked up the battery and the core was already refunded on the receipt. They didn't ask for my old battery.

I also used the $20 of $70 for front wheel bearings on the girlfriends Honda. If only they sold tires!

Man! That would've been great, but it's out of stock online now. Bummer!

Actually, I think that looks like the SAE set anyway. I'm looking for the 9601 metric set.
