Has anyone disassembled this type of lift?

I am planning to let it go about half way up, take off the runways, tip each end (the H shape) toward the floor and slide the post out.
I think the locks won't get in the way going up, please tell me if it is easy to actuate the lock and levers, on the side that the lever is not on.

Also, do I have to retract the ram or it is ok being in storage for a while with the ram mid way?

Any pointers appreciated.

I think I would pull up the YouTube assembly videos, of which Advantage issued several, and reverse the procedure.

Pick up some plastic plugs for the hydraulic lines, and a container to capture the hydraulic fluid in the lines and ram.

I believe you will want to start the disassembly with the runways all the way down to remove tension from the cables. You will need to remove the nuts at the cable ends where they go through the plates at the top of the posts. Then you will snake the cable back through the pulleys and wrap them up with the runway that has the ram in it. All this needs to happen before you remove the runways.

Be aware the plates at the top of the posts are just slid into the posts (they are welded to a smaller section of square tubing) and there are no fasteners holding them in. Pull them out before you tip the posts over. You probably won't drop one on your toe, but it wouldn't be pleasant if you did.

These are my thoughts just going from memory. I agree the Advantage videos will be a big help to you.

I think when the runways rest on locks mid way, there is not much tension on the cable, keep holding the hydraulic release and see what I mean. and the nuts on top of the top plates can can unscrewed. Unless you are talking about something else. Not sure when all the way on the floor, mine is a little taut in that position.

I hope you realize that you will have to undo the cables. Are you moving the lift or storing it?

I am taking apart ad putting in a shipping "pods" but with 6000 lbs capacity. Then I will reassemble it (I was the original assembler, but don't remember too well how it goes)
