So I finally got my garage done and had the Advantge 9000 lb lift delivered. It took my 14 yr old son and I about 4 hours to assemble. Packaging was great and the YouTube videos are very helpful. Tony at Advantage was very responsive to a few questions I had.

I did go to the Wildfire lift owners garage several months back while I was evaluating both lifts. I had narrowed it down to Advantage or Wildfire due to the boxed channel design and incorporated safety features. When I spoke with BYB, too much attitude, much higher price for an all in package, and a lack of comfort when dealing with them.

I went with Advantage for two main reasons; 1. I found out that Wildfire (who is actually about 10 miles away from Advantage in MSP area) purchased an Advantage lift and copied its design at a Chinese manufacturer. I don’t like shady business practices. 2. Advantage had lifts in stock and Wildfire was 6 weeks out.

I met Tony at BJ Scottsdale and let him know my garage would not be ready until May. He honored show pricing for me and even gave me an extra $100 discount for paying via check and not CC. I called him on a Thursday to place the order, the trucking company picked it up in MSP on Monday and I had it delivered on Tuesday.

I would definitely purchase again from Advantage. Great product, service and reputation.

Hey guys, I finally got air hooked up 110 PSI, I cannot get my air bridge jack to work.

I hooked the air and when I press the pedal switch down the air just come out of the exhaust port. There is no lift action at all, almost like it is all bypassed out the exhaust.

I was told should not need to fill the oil. Did yours come with oil? I don't really know how to fill it because the cylinder is in the horizontal position. But I didn't opened the bolt to check yet because I thought I may be missing something.

^^^ Ok guys I figured it out, there is 4 screws holding the pump to the jack, can easily remove it and stand up the pump and open the fill bolt. I kept filling it with hydraulic jack oil. this is not the same oil as the lift, said SAE10 so I used floorjack oil which is 10 weight. It took like 8 oz at least to get to the top. Instead of bypassing there is now the puff action to go up. after each time I lowered it and stood it up to check the oil level and top more as needed.

I recommend you guys to unmount the pump and check yours too to avoid low oil condition, seems like the oil went to the jack ram and the pump ram is low. pump ram need to be full at the lowered position.

The only thing I saw is there only a 2 clicks lock. Doesn't seem to go as high as I thought it would.

Do you guys put air tool oil at the ******? It didn't say anything about it just said need a filter.

with the jack on the second lock, with the 2 rod pieces (long and short) stacked and jack pad, I got the pad 15" off the runway. Wasn't enough to get my SUV tires off the runway. I had to add a big rubber block so it is almost touching the frame when lowered so I can get the about 1/2" barely off.

But as I work the suspension drooped and the rubber block sagged and I wasn't able to get the tire back on. I had to put the bridge piece and jack the control arms up to get the tire back on. I see you guys have the trucks and jeeps too wondering how you guys are doing work with your jack?

Hi Scott,

I have followed a few of your post on the Advantage lift that I am considering purchaseing and was wondering if you could answer a question or 2 ?

I noticed in your posted piccs that your lift seems to be placed tight up against the left garage wall, which would be the same position I would install mine. My ceiling is 122" tall and the floor is pretty level, almost so sloop.

My question is how close to the wall did you place lift and is there enough room between wall and vehicle to pass or work on it ? Like removing wheels ?

I have 2 Mustangs to use on it and park under it.

1969 Mustang Coup (restomod) 51.25" tall
2017 GT350 53.50" tall.

Your observations would be appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

PS: May go to Mecum auction in Jan to buy Advantage but Direct Lift (FAST Equipment) is only 25 mins from my house and about $900+ cheaper and almost no delivery charge.

My 3rd garage stall has a narrow 7' wide opening. My lift is centered on the door, so the car is also centered on the opening. Actually, I pull the bottom car closer to the wall to allow for more in garage space. My ceiling is 120" and it works for me, so your height is there. Do I have lots of room to work against the wall? No. You can figure out your space just by checking how much room you have when the car is on the ground. Here's mine.
