Some of you may remember my latest purchase from the garage sale thread.

Well I thought I'd keep you guys up to date with what I've been finding on it, along with a long overdue garage sort out, it's gotten way out of hand in there lately, and with the unfortunate news that Mrs Ruff is soon to be made redundant, I'm going to have a mass sell off to try and free up some funds.

Back to that trolley then...

£20 / $31 dollars gambled on a very quick look over this, as is normal for auctions around here, there are a LOT of flat cap wearing types who only come to make sure there isn't much space for the handful of people who are going actually bid.

This is an overview of the Par-X set, that is still probably 75% complete, I'm told that this was a 70s/80s exercise by SnapOn over here, similar to Bluepoint or the Euro tools range.

Sockets sorted into some sort of order, there are imperial and Whitworth here in a variety of manufactures, along with plenty of odd spares...

These are Snap On, what the heck are they for?

This is the spanner shelf, I haven't ventured here yet...

How'd I do guys?

8 point sockets are for square nuts, mostly found on very old stuff, you may still find them on machinery, cast iron guttering, older metal roofs and drain plugs.

Btw my parents bought a new G reg Visa diesel and keep it for 14 years at which point it went to the scrap yard, my entire childhood was spent travelling around in it, I quite like a small Citroen. They were good cheap cars back then.

Ah so they might be useful for coach bolts then? Great!

I had a C15 van once (well I've had 4 of them now) but that is basically a Visa with a box on the back, cracking vans they were.

What I couldn't understand is someone paying as much for 3 incomplete socket sets as I did for this, I think I should have bought those too as I probably have most of the missing bits here!
