Advice for adding outdoor soffit lighting

I am wanting to install 2 small recessed lights in the soffit area above my 2 garage doors. Link below to the light I am thinking about.
There is currently a motion light installed between the 2 doors that has a switch. Can I just tie into this light? Other than replacing switches and outlets, I haven't done any major electrical work, so I want to make sure I cover all bases. Seem like a do-able project ?

Can't vouch for this brand but I put some very similar ones in my shop and was very happy with how bright they were. Just need to carefully cut out the hole, mount the electronics above and pop them in the hole. You might consider bigger if you want more light. I used 6" ones. Yes, you should be able to tie into the existing light.

I put a piece of OSB on top of the soffit for better support for the fixture.

I have a very cheap chinese 6in out my back porch. It's just held onto the 17in long plastic sofft just fine. No extra bracing and easy to hide the wireing in there.

My whole house had soffit that's removable. It makes for easy exterior light additions. I have one switch by my front door that turns on flood lights 360 * around my house.

I was just looking at 14/2 romex nmb , and it specs indoor normally dry locations. Is this the proper wire? The soffits are dry, just thinking there could be dampness.

I bought the similar version of those on Amazon and used them in mine and my neighbors soffits around the house. They work great.
