Found an ad on craigslist close by for a used Mohawk A7 two post lift. The ad says the following:

In march of 2011 I installed new hydraulic Cylinders to increase lift weight from 7,000 to 9,000 lbs
Rebuilt 2 horse power motor , new Overhead Hydraulic Lines , new Safety Locks
It was done by mohawk it costed me $740

Any advice on what to do or look for to see if this work was done right?

Thanks
John

Good point. Guess I am just looking for advice on how to asses the overall condition.

An A7 could easily lift 9K pounds with the original cylinders, so the new ones are an added plus.

If it was a modification done by Mohawk then they would have a record of it as well. A telephone call with the serial number of the lift could verify the work the owner described.

Thanks got the sn and negotiated him down to $900. Seemed like everything was in order on the lift, but it was missing the over head support for the hydraulics, instead they were supported from the cieling

And why do you not already have it at home and posting pics of it????

Holding a gun to CL sellers really gets you bargains:thumbup:

The balance line overhead is nothing, easy to replace or modify to suit your installation. This is a very good lift. For $900 I'll say "you ****"

What overhead support for the hydraulics??? The lines don't have any support they just run across from the one tower to the other. I have mine run up in the rafters.

For $900 it sounds like you got a bargain. Any photos?

If its a true Mowawk, you did better than good,

You did @#$@#$@# FANTASTIC!!!

Ive been thinking about a Mohawk, if you check their website I myself feel there is no other brand better!!!

There site shows that SOOOOO many others use Chinese parts but are assembled in the US and then advertise them as "made in the USA"

Look at the site, you will see the quality of their manufacture.

A new one is about $5,000

Nice score!!
