Wright are very good tools. Not sure if you've tried them but their ratchets (3/4", 1") are quite long and not as bulky as pear heads.

As far as pear heads, Proto makes good tools as well. The drive plug is removable/replaceable on the Proto.

Armstrong and Williams could probably be had at a fair price as well.

I'm not much of a user of the larger stuff but I have a variety.

In your basement...seriously, go look now!
1" drive isn't something I see every day but I do know that Blackhawk by Proto also makes a decent ratchet - a little cheaper than the Proto. I know Wright makes excellent ratchets so I concur with 3baygarage there. I have less knowledge about Armstrong and Williams (assuming he means JH Williams) is really Snap-on Jr.
