You want to cool the air a much as possible right after the compressor. Thes causes the water vapor to condense and fall out in the receiver where it can be drained regularly

The filter you have chosen is to be installed as close to the point of use as you can. It is designed to remove particulate matter and liquid water only. Water vapor will go right through it. If you cooled the air at the compressor, then the air will remain dry 'till it cools further somewhere down the line

For this reason you need to cool the air as much as possible. Even running it through a water to air heat exchanger or better yet through a copper coil inside a refrigerator. Drain the accumulated water right after the cooling process then the air ill be dry throughout your system unless it should get blow the temp of the cooling medium

Sorry for all the posts but my I Pad will only let me write so much then it bumps me off.
The ideal temperature you want to reduce your air temperature to is 35 degrees. Any lower than this and the accumulated water ill freeze in the pipe and plug it up.
