Like the title says, I'm thinking about building a carport. Aproximate dimensions are 24' wide x 20' deep, sloping front to back. Height should be aproximately 10' in the front 8' in the back.
I want it as simple as posible and metal construction.
My main concern is materials selection. Everything I've seen so far uses 3"x3" 14g uprights, so I guess that would be strong enough. Any input is appreciated.

flat roof carports used to be put up all the time but the prefab metal one have taken over. You need to find someone who can get you metal rafters to span the distance. Most metal carports are using 2.5" x 2.5" support elements, my metal garage is built with them and it is 24' x 40' with 5' spacing between vertical exterior wall supports.
