I am thinking about putting a clear onto my concrete. I like the look of the concrete, but want a clear on it. Any thoughts or pics? Does it hold up in a garage setting?
Sort of like the floors in your local Lowes/Home depot. Looks wet, but not...
THanks!

Edger is correct and as the economy stalls the specs. are being walked around for less polish and more hocus-pocus. This satisfies the GC and everyone gets to cash a check. Floor performance suffers in the end.

If you have an existing (2) part epoxy coating from a reputable company we offer (3) choices for a clear topcoat:

100% solids clear with UV protection
Single component urethane
Polyaspartic (the bomb)

Call if you need more info.

What is the required floor prep for new concrete before applying the Polaspartic?

Are there any floor treatments that can go over new cement without major prep?

Anything topical that can go over new concrete without prep is going to be an acrylic. Acrylics are weak but will add some sheen to the floor. Acrylics are typically used outside in my experience, sealing patios, drives, etc... We make two versions, water based and solvent based.

Penetrative products like densifiers can be applied to new concrete. They will dustproof the floor and add strength to the surface. However, they do little against spills and don't add a sheen. We have those as well.

Give a call if you want me to bore you with the details. :)
