Advice on Crouse Hinds

Good evening all, I collect several different things but old industrial lighting is up there as one of my favorites. I found this old Crouse Hinds fixture a couple months back in the wild and cleaned her up to look nice. That I wanted to wire it up to display in my garage but when I finished and went to screw in a bulb I realized the threaded piece of aluminum at the base of the socket was actually a part of the fixture. When I was going through the restore process it was fairly rough and had rusted due to the vapor proof globe being shattered at some point and that aluminum piece looked as if it was the base of an old bulb that also had been shattered so I stupidly removed it right rougher than I should have. Where might one find that piece? As you can tell in the pics I salvaged the bottom half of that piece but it's pointless bc now the bulb can't screw in. That was my first time seeing that set up or I would've know better. Any advice on where to find a replacement would be much appreciated.

I would look at some light sockets and I bet you can easily drill out rivets and make something work . some sockets probably actually have a removeable shell too

Go to Home Depot and look through the lamp repair section. I bet you will find something that will work ? If not I think there are several vintage lamp repair websites. I bet you will find an answer if you ask there

I worked for Crouse Hinds for like 4 years in Toronto before I moved to the USA… we made those in the foundry . It was cool to watch. Most of the ones we made were explosion proof. We sent most of those castings off to other plants to be machine.

Find a REAL porcelain lamp holder and drill out the rivets on the bulb socket then make it fit……… These should be easy to find at a local electrical supply house.

I think this is the best plan. Hardware stores still sell them, or maybe a friend has an old one sitting in a junk box.

I wish the OP lived close to me because I have a few sitting in a box (from my contractor days) that I would give him.

Thanks for the advice. I def have a few old porcelain sockets in the basement that I've picked over the years I just didn't know if it was that simple or if I actually had to source a certain socket for this light. Made my situation way easier, thanks again.
