I am preparing for my post frame construction workshop. The main building is 24 x 32 with a 10x20 enclosed side shed. I was digging holes today and encountered some corrugated black plastic 4” hose. It was about 24 inches deep. The workshop is at the end of my driveway and there is a drain in the concrete on the drive. I believe the hose goes to that drain and if it is, there is probably 20’ that is under the foundation. It appears that the hose was placed directly on the ground abd covered with dirt when the house was built, 25 years ago. There is about 15’ of concrete slab that it runs under before it gets to building footprint.
I see my options as either dig up all hose, fill and compact to get back up to the nominal grade and block the drain- to later reroute/ make a french drain
Or
Repair the damaged section and put gravel/dirt around it and compact.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Lee
