Advice on fixing garage door

I haven't seen it in person yet, but I got these photos from my wife. Today, someone backed into our garage door with the hitch hitting the closed door. How bad is it? Any advice on how to repair it? I have three doors, so replacing would be painful. Can I take those panels off, set them up on the table and bang out the dents with a rubber mallet? The brace in the middle of the door looks a bit skewed so I'd need to correct that as well.

Can I buy any of those parts without replacing the whole door?

Good luck. This happened to us a few years back. We were never able to get the door just right and ended up having to replace it.

The parts should be available from big box stores, or a local garage door company.

It might be repairable with some hammer/dolly work.
Honestly someone needs to buy you 2 more panels.
Do you know the make/model of the door?
If so, and still in prodution, those bottom panels could be pulled and replaced.

I'd call their insurance company and ask them to send a door company. Theyre not built to take abuse and yours did. You might get lucky, you might be SOL.

Not good, It's gonna look even worse when you see it! No matter how much you beat on those sections, that door will always look BENT. Looks like the top of the bottom section and the bottom of the second section are kinked, You'll never get those to seal or even function properly!

No offense, but those were not high dollar doors to begin with, builders specials. Depending on age and MFG. good chance they're no longer available.

Check with your local door Cos. as well as HD/ Lowes, you may get lucky and find something that matches closely. Good Luck..

Sounds like it is not your problem, contact the person's insurance company and have them take care of it and all the door have to match.
