Advice on redoing an epoxy floor - product comparison

Looking for some advice from the resident experts here. I have a 2 car garage, home was built in '86 (San Diego) that I would like to have epoxied. I did a DIY job 10 years ago with some EpoxyShield from Homdepot. It lasted about 2 years before it started bubbling with little 'brown volcanos' of all over the floor. Looks like there may be no moisture barrier under the slab. I ended up putting a Versaroll vinyl covering down which has lasted until now. Note it is always wet under this vinyl.

Fast forward another 8 years or so and the vinyl has gotten stained up and the wife wants me to look into getting epoxy professionally installed. I got a couple of quotes locally and, while the quoted price for install is similar, there are differences in the products.

Opinions on where one is better than the other (particularly with my floor)?

Bid 1:
Moisture barrier from Koster (2 part Koster moisture barrier VAP I 2000)
Epoxy system from Arizona Polymer Flooring
Primer\base coat 550.
Install vinyl chips/MARBLE.
One coat of 400 clear.
Drill vapor ports
Install one coat of Polyurethane 100 UVR clear.

Bid 2:
Epoxy based moisture barrier (Kretus)
Polymer flake (Torginol)
Sika, polyaspartic top coat

Thanks for your help. 3rd time addressing this floor, want to do it right this time. Note bid 1 is recommending to drill many small vapor ports right through the slab. I never heard of this before, is it common (and advisable)

A system I use often is:
Kretus Top Shelf Epoxy thinned 25% for primer
Kretus TSE, 100 sq ft per gallon
Broadcast flake
Kretus 85 Fast Cure polyaspartic @ 100 sq ft/gallon.

I'd recommend it over the APF system personally.

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it.

Anyone got any comments on the need to drill vapor holes? Or on that brown crystalline stuff that keeps growing.....

Not what you asked but I'd check supratile and skip the prep work.
So so so much nicer than epoxy.

Hi, yes our www.supratile.com solid PVC industrial grade tiles would be an excellent choice, and zero chance of failure, and install right over your floor in a day.

As for the quotes, we are not fans of 'mixing' difference manufacturer's companies products as if you have a problem the manufacturers won't warranty it since they are not using everything from the same vendor. Look for a company that uses all the layers from the same manufacturer if you go that route.

For example, we offer moisture barrier, epoxy and topcoat as do other vendors on the GJ.
