Had a water heater blow in a finished basement - we had Pergo-type flooring with a thin foam underlayment. I was home at the time and wetvac'd up as much water as possible, but it ran under the floor and into a lot of the seams destroying/warping much of the flooring by running into the seams.
So we've cleaned up, cut out the wet dry wall, and have a bare cement floor. This floor gets moisture - we could tell by pulling up the flooring in some areas under the underlayment that didn't flood. It is unsealed concrete that previously had glue/carpet before I put the underlayment/Pergo.
So, I'd like to do this repair right, but can't afford to spend a ton of money (ie Thermaldry, etc). I'm looking at between 400-500sq ft.
So my question is: is there something I can do in the range of $1500-2000 that will be effective, or should I just seal it and put a garage paint on the floor?
