Advice on shop/aprtment needed

Hello. I know almost nothing about building shops or garages but plan on learning since I will be building one soon. I was raised on a cattle ranch in western South Dakota near Sturgis. I just finished Chiropractic school in Davenport, IA and my wife and I are moving back to SD and will be building on the ranch.
