That's twice the price of a new CDI clicker from Amazon, and TTBOMK CDI and Snap-On clickers are the exact same tool.

That said, I like the Proto version a bit better. Deep stamped markings, not laser engraved. The CDI has more comfortable knurling, though. The knurling on the Proto is a bit sharp.

I bought both of mine in pawn shops. Paid $150 for the 3/8 and $200 for the 1/2

Hf is within a percent of accuracy.
Unless building rockets, why bother?
56ftlbs vs 55ftlbs, consistent.
Do you really think there is a difference as long as consistency stands?

Both can be calibrated as often as you like.
500 bucks is a joke and a screwing and marks a fan boy like a tattoo.

At the very least take the cdl advice.

Let's stop listening to fan boys and paying for Nascar type branding.

Thanks

Within 1%... sounds like whoever you are listening to is wrong as well

stay away from anything that costs less than the price of a calibration.

there are only a couple of usa companies making torque wrenches anymore, if its made in the usa its probably decent (one of the survivors).

if you have unlimited funds, you can explore some other options.

CDI, precision, Snap on are probably first tier. Proto, Apex maybe a half a half-step behind but tend to still be quitee decent stuff. Wrigt, SK and what not all outsource.

Honestly a good copy kept in good condition and checked for cal is fine--to some extent it doesn't matter. Quality tends to have to do with repeatability, stability, druability, overal longevity and ultimately cal interval.

The main one you cannot hedge your way around is repeatability. The others you can deal with by keeping in good shape and treating with kid gloves and checking it ALOT. but cheapo's aren't worth the money to calibrate ... so that's a problem for that strategy.

I'm pretty sure you can walk on any local Snap On truck in your area and get that very model wrench for about that same deal. It would be new without any question as to the validity of warranty. Not that you would have a problem with warranty on used but at that used price why take a chance.

That's not a great deal, imo. Do you need or want a Tech angle? That is what is different about this wrench vs a clicker- HF or otherwise-

If you don't, look for a Tech wrench. I bought mine many moons ago and still love it

My "advice" would be to make your headings more descriptive.

Starting a post with a one word heading such as "advice" or "tools" doesn't provide much incentive to even click on it...
