I have those same red handled ones with the branding ground off. I only paid ten bucks for them so I consider them excellent value. I've cut cotter pins and all sorts of wire with them. I have no idea where they were made but for ten bucks I don't really care. My gut tells me they are Tekton and their long reach stuff has always been imported as far as I know. The only domestic pliers I've seen by them have come from Wilde and I don't think these are.

^ I don't think I used mine on any cotter pins, but we did use them to snip off all the nails when we replaced the exterior south wall of this house and did a bit of "fixing" along the edge of the roof. There were a lot of nails. They were also employed as pry-bars and hammers when the need arose. They are still in fabulous condition, although they're a bit scuffed up.

Definitely NOT Wilde product.

I have the Icons. I bought the Protos years ago and was totally unimpressed and returned them, which is a 1% thing for me.
