Advise from my previous post was extremely helpful, thanks guys.

I now have the compressor so a bunch of unknowns are now answered. No doubt it's a Bel Air and based on a 318xx. Can't pin it to a specific model, parts on it don't 100% match current models. Specifically - can't say for sure original motor was 6 HP, just have label that states 6. Pump is a T39. CFM is rated at 19.~ at 100 PSI, which is higher than models with a 5 HP. Doesn't have a low oil sensor. Never had a mag start. It does have an auto drain though.

I studied the differences between 5 HP (18 CFM) and 7.5 HP (25 CFM) models. Both have the T39. Seems only difference that matters is the motor and pulley size. After researching all the part numbers to identify the specific differences, I planned on buying a Baldor 7.5 HP, 3450 RPM 184T frame motor and a 5.95" pulley. I already have a Square D mag start, just have to get the heater to match.

New wrinkle - checked craigslist one last time before ordering a new motor and found an ad
that was 9 minutes old. It was for a Atlas Copco LE7 compressor with a Leeson single phase 7.5 HP, 215T motor (Cat #140155). No tank, just compressor and motor mounted on a steel 'skid' type frame. The motor connected to the compressor with a direct drive coupler. Compressor is bad (don't know what the problem is), motor is fine. Owner bought motor new 18 months ago to replace the original 3 phase motor. Price was good, it was less than 2 miles away, so it's now mine.

The motor is 1740 RPM, not 3450. Now I'm stuck with trying to decipher Bel Air part numbers again. I don't want to go through that misery. Can anyone tell me the correct pulley size (and maybe belt size) for this set up? The T39 has a 15" pulley on it.
