I need to find and buy two of these connectors for installing an aerial coaxial cable. The item I need is the "hangar" that holds the coaxial cable and hooks onto the masthead hook. I checked Home Depot, Orchard, and Radio Shack but no luck.

What are they called and where can I buy two of them?

Thanks

Do you need anything? I would think for a home install you could just wrap the messenger wire to make a "hook"

It's actually for a temporary install of a Cat6e cable until I have time to go underground. I need to get network (wired) out to my shop right away but don't have time to go under the concrete pad now. Found two at a local electrical supply @ ~$20 out the door total, will post pics later. Problem solved.

Are you looking for grips like this instead?

Is there a "real" electrical supply house near you? They would have what you need.
EDIT- Sorry during my slow typing I just saw that's what you did. Great!

That's an easier to use clamp. The other style requires pulling the end of the cable through the grip. These can clamp on the middle, but are really made to be used with flat cables (flat telephone, or twin lead antenna wire, etc).

But I would not hang a Cat6 wire like this unless the run is REALLY short (say 20' at most).
Regular Cat6 is not made to be put in tension, and this is just the sort of use that will cause you issues, both from stretching the wire, and from the smushing caused by the clamp.

If I really needed to suspend regular Cat6, I'd pull a steel cable, or perhaps a clothesline, and tie it to that. But the right answer is to buy arial Cat6 like this:

With this, you split off the steel messenger wire from the rest, and tie that to your eye. No clamping required.

For a temporary setup, I'd just use RG6 as sacrificial aerial support for the CAT6 to be zip tied on. Copy what cable company does for your hangers. Heck the cable company might give you some if you tell them you're running cableTV from the house to garage . . . "little white lie" . . . ;)

Agree to NOT put tension on the CAT6.

Finally, recommend some surge/lightning protection as it would be real bad to have your equipment wiped out, or shop catch fire.

First, I'm not using regular Cat6 cable, I am using very heavy jacketed cable rated for direct burial. I do plan to put it into underground conduit within 3-4 months once my house renovation begins, but for now this stuff is plenty tough for a few months of aerial install. The outside jacket was surprisingly strong.

Yes I use surge and ground protection.

I found these at a local electric supply, about $10/each:

Hookup at the house end:

This is the shop end. I'll have a switch in the shop for the various devices, but one Cat6 can easily handle the load:

I really like that these cable support grips do not pinch or grip the cable at one point, rather that stress is spread along about 6" of the cable and around 360 degrees.

Easy-peasy temporary solution.

+1 !!!!!

By far the best solution, for anything over a short distance and a short amount of time !
