I had a friend of mine translate and he even contacted them for more information. 125 euro for the toolbox. 34 euro to have it shipped to the us.

Very cool, but too steep for my blood.

That's a very cool tote. The rivets make it for me.

This is my old Tote, a "Tote All" from Simonsen of Chicago. I think it dates from the 1950's.

Got one!!!!
My son, who shares the same "affliction" in all things garage and classic cars, presented this to me this morning, blew me away! (Birthday gift) Serial # 0013, was told it's the first one shipped to North America, which surprises the hell out of me. Not sure my garage is really worthy, this may have to stay at my office for the time being.
Thanks again pal, the effort means a lot.

Garagedog,

mine is #16, and I made certain that my government placed it unter the x-mas tree ...

My mother-in-law also stated that it's to precious to be placed in my garage ...:lol_hitti

I like it!

Can you please provide the contact information? I have been looking all over the internet for info on the company and cannot find it. I'd like to get one for my husband for his birthday.

Thank you for any help you can provide!

Received my tool box the other day for hubby's birthday! He was thrilled to get it! Reinhard is actually really easy to do business with and he packaged it SO well! Worth the money to have something so cool for my husband.

Many years ago, in the Aircraft Mechanics training/apprenticeship programs, a carry-around toolbox was a sheetmetal skills project, that would be useful in later years on the job. The boxes would be constructed as the different skills were learned; layout, setback, specific radiius for different gauge sheet, dimpling or countersinking where appropriate, and proper setting of the rivets themselves. Another aspect was economic, efficient use of the raw materials. You were given enough material to build it, but you had to figure out how to do it with what you had. A great skill when you are working for a company.

At the testing stage for certification as an A&E (now A&P) you were required to show practical hands-on knowledge of your skills. These projects were a way of showing that, without laboriously performing the task in front of the examiner.

I have a small collection of Aircraft maintenance training texts from the '30's & '40's, and I have seen some examples (& drawings) similar to the posted toolbox in them. I'll try to scan a pic or two. No fancy raised stampings, however.
