Hello Guys,

I'm new here. Hopes its ok to chime in on the conversation?

I just bought an Aero Industries tool box and was trying to figure out the approximate age? I'll post some picture. I haven't found any stamping yet. it's a 6-Drawer Drop Front tool chest.

Thanks for any info in advance...

I bought 2 of these boxes in the 1990’s. A company called Valley Industries in NY bought out Aero’s toolbox line. I have an old catalog from when I bought them.

I picked up this Valley intermediate box a couple weeks ago, haven't seen another one like it with five drawers, even in a brochure. Couldn't find any info on this company, wonder if they were pretty small in the market?

I bought both of mine from a distributor in western PA. They must of had a lot of quality control problems because most of the showroom was seconds. Both of mine were from this lot. One had peeling paint and the other had one drawer that was smaller than the others. I couldn’t beat the price. Overall the design was good and has held up well for over 30 years of hard use.

The construction is pretty heavy duty, weighs a lot more than an upscale Craftsman box I bought 20+ years ago. It also probably didn't help they had friction slides instead of ball bearing
