As the title states, are there any affordable garage cabinets out there? All I ever see is like the Gladiator brand...and those prices are just insane to me. $300+ for a box with 2 doors? I was hoping i would be able to find something for $150 or less, that wont be cheap plastic and fall apart either. Are there any options for me out there?

I kind of want something like this http://www.lowes.com/pd_5393-46-GATB302DRG_0_?productId=3085613&Ntt=gladiator&Ntk=i_products&pl=1&currentURL=/pl__0__s?Ntk=i_products$rpp=30$No=30$Ntt=gladiator$identifier=

I plan on using it to store all of my auto detailing stuff/auto fluids, etc.

Thanks

I think the best value for metal cabinets are the Seville cabinets at Sam's club. But the cheapest option is probably to build them yourself if you have some woodworking tools. Search GJ and you'll find some really nice stuff that the guys here have built.

I recently bought 4 of the Craftsman cabinets.
2 of these: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00910134000P?prdNo=5&blockNo=5&blockType=G5

Occassionally they go on sale for really great prices. You've just got to watch the Sears website and then print the ad and bring it to the store. I can't vouch for their quality, though, since they're still in their boxes in my living room while the garage gets VCT floors and new paint. I plan to wall mount all of them, even the larger ones.

Also, have you checked your nearest Sears Outlet? I also saw the same ones in gray and black at mine for around 1/2 price, as well as the smaller Gladiator cabinets for $75.

Make your own, or find old lateral files on CL or auctions. Lots of businesses going out of business or going paperless, so there's a lot of excess file cabinets out there. They're well built and pretty cheap. If you are lucky, you can find several of the same size/style/color at one time, which looks pretty darn nice as a wall system.

I'm using the unfinished cabinets from Home Depot, painted satin black. Hint: the Lowe's and Home Depot cabinets are from the same manufacturer, but the HD cabinets are of slightly better quality. They have wooden drawers (as opposed to particle board) and the base cabinets have a shelf.
