The time has come for me to upgrade to an actual larger box.
My current HF Roll cart was and is still a great buy but its now overflowing (No thanks to GJ ).
I've been searching the site as good as I know how and I still can't decide on a nice box.

I'm looking for a roller cab, at least 41" Ideally 53"-56". BB Slides and an actual latch system (Not Detents). I've checked out some cheaper ones but most seem to have really shallow depth drawers(16"), 20"+ would be great but again there's so much to choose from. The idea here is not the Snap-On box of lifetime debt but something nicer than Crapsman that will have room to grow for 3-5yrs. If I left out anything, I m sure y'all will tell me. Less than $2,500 would be nice but I know that's pretty restrictive

Why not the HF 56"? That sounds like it is exactly what you are looking for...

Menards also has new boxes out with a griplatch feature. Worth a look if you live in the midwest.

go take a tech class at your local college, get the snap on student discount 48% and order a nice snap-on box.

DanDan -Viper Brand is the same as the Older Masterforce boxes with Detents.

MattPersman - That SO cart in blue looks amazing, but does it offer that much room for $1,600

SuperSport - Both good suggestions. I didn't see the HF 56" had the latch system and the new Masterforce ones are nice. Can anyone chime in who has a 53"+ ?
They're custom order so I can't see one in person.

Bhalv - That is a very clever Idea :bounce:

With the discount you should be able to get a classic 78 for 2200 out the door

The bigger HF box has a latch system. The smaller 42"/44" one only has detents.

Plenty of options here for under $2500.

that cart is bigger than many tool boxes its a bit over 20000 cubic inches of storage. lifetime warranty, can pick colors. in comparo the giant looking HF 56" box is 28000 cubic inches and only comes in red. it is cheaper no doubt, i have not read any of the reviews on it, I just know snap on, mac and matco boxes are of good quality. you can always keep an eye on craigslist as well.

Nice! Well I'll have to check it out then. I didn't know of any way to research older boxes and no clue what it was worth. I hope its still there.

Looks like it may cost me about $200 to arrange transport for it. Putting it at $1500, I m contemplating it now because its not exactly what I want. Is it still a good enough buy, that I could use it for a year or two - or would I be stuck with it?

Ideally a KRL722(Two Full length drawers) or even better a KRL1022(30" Depth) would be my choice. But $1,500 seems too good to pass up.. Thoughts?

buy the thing already, you should be able to flip that 1500 for several more years as long as it's in good shape

The box is more beat up than the pictures suggest. The paint was scratched badly and it had been hit by a car or a lift. It also had rust and peeling paint along the bottom of the box. I might make an offer of $700 but that box has seen better days for sure.

Do you require full-width drawers? I have a Grizzly cabinet that's been pretty nice; IMO better fit and finish than the HF options.

I would like 2 full-width drawers. Pretty much like the KRL722 or 1022
I want to have my top Deep drawer for all my sockets(On Ernst rails) and the next full drawer for my wrenches which are in mag organizers

Hopefully my last post or close to my last in this thread, I appreciate everyone's input.

My SO Guy has offered me one of these KRL722BPLSX for $2,900 before tax etc..
My question is, just how good is that as far as prices go and would I take a large hit if I traded up in a year or two? It's my understanding that the dealers received these for free or close to it? I really like that its brand spankin new and It would be dropped off at my door (vs. trailering one from who knows where). I also want an AmorEdge top for it but he didnt offer any deal on that..
Dare I make a counter offer with the top included..:lol_hitti

My Other choice is a lightly used KRL1022PCM for $3K that's about an hour away on a Farm.
