Age of Fasteners

Nice old boat model, and welcome to GJ.
The fasteners look like what's called Upholstery Nails. Modern ones have round shanks, if yours have square shanks that ages them a bit.

Thank you for replying Farmer J. Thank you for the compliment in regards to my boat. I'm not positive, but I think they are round shanks. I can send you better pics..,just wondering too, the age difference between round shanks and square? Also, in your opinion, if they are round shanks, and considering the patina, what age would be your estimate?

It's difficult to estimate the age of items like this. Brand new ones like that are still sold in souvenier shops by the sea in Cornwall!
As it has the name of the Dominican Republic written on it maybe it was made or bought there by somebody as a keepsake?
If it's been on a dusty shelf by the sea the salt air will have rusted those fasteners and it could be only a few years old or it may be a hundred years, and it wouldn't look any different. I don't know enough to estimate age, but I would guess less than 50 years old by looking at the fasteners.
