Air and Water Hose Mounting Plan

I have purchased two Harbor Freight 50' hose reels for my garage. I shall use one for water and one for air. Here is my problem:

Where do you mount them so that you can use them in the garage and outside of the garage? The garage is 25 feet deep so it would be best if they were about halfway out so as to provide enough line for inside and outside functions but.......I have standard garage doors to content with if I mount them on the ceiling.

Do you guys mount them on the ceiling and, if so, how, or do you mount them on the side walls and again, if so how? Pictures would be great. My ceiling is 8 feet high, sheet rocked and so are the walls.

Mounted my air hose reel in the rafters at 8 ft high, mounted just above the front wall by the roll up garage door. I have an extra 25' hose for extending if needed (but never have yet). I have no need for water hose reels in mine.

Mounted mine to the ceiling in the middle of my 28 x 28 garage. Have an air hose and an electric extension. Both are adjacent to the garage door opener so the electric extension plugs into the same outlet. Set them up so that I can still use them when the garage door is fully open.

Am able to reach vehicles parked outside the garage to put air in tires, etc. Use the electric extension to power shop vac for easy cleanup of trucks. Since you are going to the effort to have air and water, you might consider a self-coiling electrical extension cord as well. Not a big expense, or effort to install but you will be surprised how often you'll use it.

My garage is about 25'x25' too. I mounted my air hose reel between the garage door tracks, on the ceiling about 6 feet in. There's plenty of hose to reach inside, and more length available for outside. I bolted it to a piece of 2x12 toe-nailed between the joists, but if I were doing it again, I'd just bolt it up to some unistrut.

Here's a picture of mine.

The mount is two lengths of 1 1/2" angle iron welded flat to flat and cut to fit the truss angles.

The other reel is a Bayco drop light reel.
