Hey guys,

Looking at getting an air angle die grinder. Will just be used in my home shop, but if I can pick up something decent for less than $50 I'd consider it. Otherwise any reason why I should just get a $20 HF special? What about some of the stuff on ebay?

Don't mind used as long as it isn't beat.

Air consumption is a concern, other than that they seem fairly bullet proof. What else should I look out for?

Thanks

Tim

#1, cheap air tools use a lot of air. Period.

I can't comment on the quality of the HarborFreight air tools, but I can tell you the $60ish Chicago Pneumatic angle die grinders are good tools. My painter at work has been using one for five years with no trouble. I have the Cheap IR version of the same tool. It's been ok, but I have had to tighten the nut that retains the angle head many times. That may be a function of being dropped on concrete a lot, or it might be a poor tool. I've since upgraded(Snap-on) and have been happy.

For the money, the CP's and IR's are good angle die grinders.
