Im in the process of mounting my 50 gal. Air tank to the wall, next to ceiling to save space.
The pump and motor will be remote mounted below it on the wall. To prevent vibration I was going to suspend it with springs then bolt plate to wall. Then I started thinking that small air bags like helper springs for the rear of a pickup would be better. They would only need to support 100 lbs or so, I could build the shelf in a way to control tourqe during start-up but seems like a good way to isolate vibrations from the wall.
Anyone done this? Any good sources of small dia. Bags? Spent a few min. On amazon but all that I found were pickup bags that could work but I was looking for something in a smaller dia. Like 2" dia, with 1" stroke.
Thank you for any help, discussion.
Jim.

It's only a 5hp, compressor. I don't think I'm over thinking it. Im trying to eliminate the vibration from the wall. Even if it's a 1 hp. Motor the reciprocating will vibrate and that's what in trying to prevent.

I doubt it will vibrate that much
I would wait and see if you really have a problem
if so, heavy foam, like a gym seat, will be enough

any reason you just cant mount the motor on the ground and not have to worry about vibrating the wall?
