Air Chuck Problems for Tire Filling

Hi Folks:

I have had an annoying problem with the air chuck I bought to fill tires with. The chuck since new required me to move it around at different angles to get the chuck's plunger to engage the tire core vale before it will allow air to flow. Once I find that sweet spot I need to carefully keep it steady or lose it. I have never had this problem with a chuck. Any tips on a DIY fix or is a new chuck a better way to go? Or recommendations for a reasonable air chuck to purchase that will give reliable service.

Couple of pics attached. Standard auto store air chuck.

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks for the endorsement Just me. Today I ordered a Mil505 to get in tight on the motorcycle and snow blower.
