I really like the one I have made by Milton. The Milton coupler that attaches to the air valve seems to make a better sealed connection than the cheap air chuck that came with my Craftsman 3 gallon compressor.

I have heard good things about them, on that Milton, can you remove the elongated foot and just use the connector on the hose itself?

The double chuck on the 506 is designed for dual wheels on trucks. One valve stem points toward the inside of the truck, which is why you need one chuck to point towards you. If you don't air up dual wheels, the 505 is the best option.

By the way, most of the dual chucks have grooves that lock onto the valve stem threads to keep them in place, rather than making you push them the whole time you are filling the tire. The drawback they have is that it then becomes harder to disengage them. On a small tire, like a hand truck tire, it can be a scramble to get the chuck disengaged before you get too much air in the tire. On big tires, a few seconds doesn't matter much.

It appears the Milton has a valve so you're only adding air when you hold the valve open? Looks like that could be useful for matching tire pressures too, without having to bleed out the excess.

FWIW a dual foot on an air chuck is very useful for airing up spare tires on trucks when the wheel is mounted face up, and on some cars with donut spares when they're face down (assuming they don't have a solid face).

I use this one from SO (http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...roup_ID=683717&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog), best one I've used so far. It doesn't have the pencil style gauge, but uses a sight glass style instead, which I find to be much better.

I bought the Craftsman one almost ten years ago. Works perfectly, is accurate. I don't like the dual ones like above since they don't fit on one of my cars.

The Milton 506 I have does not work that way ... I have to hold it firmly onto the valve to inflate. Plus I can just release the trigger to stop inflating any time.

I also have the same Craftsman air gauge that is about 15 years old .. still works great. I recently bought the ARB .. wish it was made in USA but it still works great
