air compessor electrical wire setup

Hi,

I am setting up an air compressor (puma pk6060V) , the wiring diagram that came with the compressor shows 2 hot and 1 ground, I looked where the ground is connected inside the pressure switch and it is connected to the actual tank.
I am setting up a 10G wire to hook up to the compressor , the 10G has 2 hots , 1 neutral and 1 ground, so where should I connect the neutral ?
or should the neutral connect to where it says ground on the pressure switch and eventually connects to the neutral in the electrical box , because the receptacle has 2 hots and one neutral and one ground all connected to the main panel using a double 30 amp breaker.
I am little puzzled by not seeing a neutral on the air compressor pressure switch.

You don't use a neutral to wire the compressor. Used to be 230 volt circuits just used the 2 hot legs and a ground, now they're 4 wire circuits with the neutral. Reason being you can pull a 115 volt circuit off the 230 volt using 1 hot leg, the neutral, and the ground of course. So just skip the neutral for the compressor, since it doesn't have any 115 volt circuits.

Unfortunately no, those hot legs didn't come with the car, probably just as well, would have put it out of my price range. Went to a car show, there was a pro photographer and a bunch of models there, they used my car for a prop for a couple. Good luck with the compressor, it's pretty straight forward.

a follow up question, where should the ground from the air compressor be connected to ? does that mean I have to have a 4 prong receptacle and the ground be connected to the ground from the main panel ?

the air compressor ground seems to me needs to be connected to the main panel ground which means I have to have a 4 wire cord and 4 prong wall receptacle and connect the ground of the wall receptacle to the ground of the main panel, then the air compressor ground goes to the ground in the wall receptacle, is that right ?
