Air Compressor after cooler Radiator style

Thinking of using a transmission coiler for a Air compressor after cooler.
I see 2 types of Trans coolers:
1- parallel tubes running from side to side, each side having a "tank" or larger tube.

2- series, or one long tube snaking through the radiator.

Does the one long tube snaking through the radiator cool the air better?
Or does the air "slow down" going through the many parallel tubes of the parallel style radiator ?

Good enough for me :)
I think I'll hit the local "pull a part" yard and try to get a cooler for $25.00

Thanks,
