Hello, OK figured out the impact problem, now trying to figure out compressor problem errr.

Here goes, OK the air compressor is new, its the kobalt 155psi 30 gallon at Lowes, I did a proper break in, and waited another 30mins of use give or take before changing oil.

After changing oil I looked at the dirty oil and it has metal shavings in it, here's a pic

The black pieces are the metal shaving's , is this normal?

Not sure, it seems those are more like machining chips. Wear from initial start-up would be more like small particles. The 13 year old Chinese girl must not have cleaned yours out so good is my thought.

Just a thought. Give it another week, change the oil again and see if there are any more metal shavings. That way if there are, you can still take it back

Yea I was thkin that, it doesn't seem to be running bad, it has gotten a little louder maybe, with some hissing sounds give or take.

Another thing is after break in it shut off at 155 psi once, then after that I had to adjust it to get to 155, also now after it shuts off at 155 it will go down to between 150-145,

As the air cools down, it takes less volume, so pressure drops. I assume the drop is not instant, but is over few minutes or so? I would blame cooling.

Sometime it will go go down 10 psi but not all the time, 2 days ago it shut off and only went down 5 give or take but is now reading 155, I didn't thk it would drop 10psi.

And sometimes it does take over night

I've been chasing down leaks in my system for 3 months. Hope you have better luck than me!

really soapy water in a spray bottle..let it set for a few minutes you will see --foam for real small leaks and bubbles for massive ones.

Also I never have my compressor set above 130 PSI..not really needed.
compressor is at 130psi and my regulator for tools set around 100psi

BTW

For most all single stage compressors, I agree with you on the max PSI.
However, my 2-stage Champion is factory set to on at 140 and off at 175. Of course I regulate it to abot 100PSI.
Although I do have a straight tap for those bolts that just don't want to move. :D

Try finding and pricing seperators and regulators rated for over 150PSI. :(

Yep I did that, all fitting are good, I tho it maybe either be check valve or unloader valve, it doesn't drain all the time after a fill the last time it never went down at all.

Nothing yet, I'm going to re grease it, with. Super tech multi duty high temp grease, last I used green synthetic ball joint grease.

See if that helps the wrench work like it should, if not I'm just going to buy another impact
