Thought i'd share some pictures of my air compressor build. I'm a craigslist junkie, I found the 80 gal tank for $75 aready painted. Than about a month later I found the top part with the Curtis pump for $150. Couldn't find (for a good price), a single phase 5hp motor (the top came with a 3 phase 5hp). So I picked up a new one from Farm and Fleet for $450. A pressure gauge from ebay $15 and some copper pipe and fittings $50. Some wire, lites, switch, and magnetic starter from a buddy (thanks Bill) and I finally have a air compressor in my shop.. :bounce:

That turned out great. Nice build.
Any idea how old the tank is? It looks to be in good shape but...

Looks great and you have a Curtis pump. You paid about the same as you would for a Craftsman or similar only you have a Curtis! Much better.

Nice Job!

Thank you for the comments. The mount needed a little drilling and grinding to line up the holes and the tank is a 1998. When I went and looked at it I was worried about rust inside but for $75 I thought i'd give it a try so for so good..
