I built a gas powered air compressor that I have found very useful on the farm,
I had a old tan form a direct drive compressor that self destructed,
a pump from another compressor, the tanks rotted out on,
and bought a gas engine, and a unloader control unit, basically just a bolt together project.
I added a centrifugal clutch, with a grease able bearing, and a throttle control,
when the unloader kicks in, it idles down, and the clutch, lets the pump stop, also, it lets it start easier,
it is great for tires, I have a air chipper hammer I use to drive rod type fence post, and I have a Rohrer Tee post driver driver,
it works great when working on things away from the shop, can run air wrenches and blow off parts, it will even run the 1" air wrench, and if all else fails I can bring out the large compressor,
