Air compressor drain-I hope this helps someone: A little background, I've had my air compressor for years even before my current house. The compressor used to be on the floor but in the current garage it's been in the attic. Because it's in the attic it's been a hassle to drain. Get a ladder, go up, turn the valve and drain the tank into an old kitchen pan. Tried an old HF auto drain but it never worked right and disconnected it. Doing more work in the garage and needed to drain the tank more often.
Looked at the price of a 'professional' auto drain ($100 or more) and struggled with that. Then I remembered the old HF drain had all kinds of plumbing that came with it. Removed the old drain valve, used the connections from the HF unit, and then screwed a air line and air nozzle to it and then let it hang off the attic.

Went out today to fill a tire and the pressure was making water come out of the air nozzle prompting me to use the nozzle and drain it. Works great, 0 cost!
This would work with a compressor on the ground as it helps get the 'valve' out from underneath the tank.

My 60gal compressor is in a loft upstairs and I ran a 1/4” air line from the bottom tank drain to a small ball valve that discharges into my shop sink. Whenever I wash my hands I crack the valve for a moment. Simple and very effective just like yours.
