Guys, I am a long time lurker and infrequent poster on GJ, thanks in advance for considering this question....I hve searched this topic and am left more confused than I started.

I recently bought a 5hp 60g Quincy compressor and am now looking to get a filter/regulator for it. There are way more choices and price points than I would have expected. Netted out, mostly I will be using tools like DA sanders, Impact wrench, grinders etc...maybe once a year painting...Common sense would suggest that I get a Quincy filter, but they are very very pricey...I'm interested in a good choice for a good price. My Compressor specs are below...

15.2 CFM at max
Max 170, working pressure 140-170

I'd personally get a separate filter and regulator. When you start using any pressure higher than 125 psi, the price for filters and regulators go up accordingly. I usually shop ebay to find what I need, paying full retail on new equipment is a killer but I find new stuff at used prices.

Get the Quincy filter. The element will last for years in a home shop environment. As for a pressure regulator, get Aro, Wilkerson, Norgren or other industrial brand.
