Air compressor filter

I finally picked up an 80 gallon 2 stage compressor. I need some advice on a decent particle/moisture filter. The compressor has a 3/4" output so I need a high volume unit.

Any recommendations on brand or size?

BTW the compressor is an older Sanborn that outputs 18 cfm at 100psi and 16 cfm at 175psi. I will be using this to run my plasma and other high volume air tools.

Plasma cutters like clean, DRY air. I would go with a standard filter/regulator for normal air tools plus a coalescing filter for the plasma. Parker, Wilkerson, and Milton are top brands. I would go with 1/2" NPT thread units. You can do a lot with air line to reduce the moisture before it even hits the filters. Most notably an after cooler between the pump & tank and a long horizontal line off the compressor or a large riser. Drip legs at each.

Thanks for the response. The major brands was exactly what I was looking for.

I was reading a bunch about building a cooler and drip legs, which I will probably get to after I do some framing. Right now I will probably get some filters and get them setup right off the tank so I can keep working.

Now to do some shopping. Any suggestions as to where?

I have bought Parker from Zoro and Milton from Amazon in the past.

The Parker setup I am running (7F series) has a 5 micron filter & float drain. The Miltons often come with a 40 micron sintered bronze filter and is a "night drain" when pressure drops to zero (i.e. you close the tank valve & run the line down). Milton can be setup for float as well but it costs more.

You can get mounting brackets for each if needed.

Issue with filters and regulators is the cost. Few years back I purchased Parker or Wilkersons 1" filter or regulators, unused, for $20-$40 on Ebay, now they are going absurdly high. For a coalescing filter you want all metal, over sized, even if you need to adapt to smaller pipe ( larger units permit air velocity to be lower then smaller units which takes out more moisture). Avoid plastic bowels, even if they also have a metal shrapnel shield covering the plastic bowel.
You have to love engineering.... the makers of regulators/filter with plastic bowels know they can blow up, so the fix is to add a light metal shield to cover the potential dangerous plastic bowl...would it not be simpler and just a bit more expensive, and less liability, to just use a safe metal bowl.

^^ this too. I forgot to mention metal bowls as that's all I use. Skip the polycarbonate as they call it.
