Air compressor for occasional painting?

I'm looking to add a air compressor to my garage. I'm looking to power some air tools like a impact wrench and impact hammer every now and again. I would like to be able to paint with it though.

Eastwood is selling there devilbliss spay gun set. Using that as a baseline, I need 13cfm at 30psi.

Is there any compressor on the market for less the $500 and 120vac? I know I should be looking at 60 gallon tanks but would a 30 gallon tank work?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
-Cybin

i don't think you are going to find a 30 gal unit that will put out that kind of CFM. Most of the 20-30 gal units are in the 6-8 CFM range. May be OK for intermitent use, but I wouldn't want to shoot a whole car or something with it.

Even the larger 60 gal ones from HD or Lowes have around 10-11 CFM @ 40 psi. I got lucky and found a used one that will put out 18 CFM @ 40 for under that $500 budget of yours but they are few and far between. Depends on how patient you are and how bad you need it now. You may check with some local compressor vendors and see if they come across and units that could be rebuilt. Could save a bunch of $$$. God luck on your search.

Oh, and you can see my new toy here. :bounce:

I second that.

I just got one of their compressors, its the next one up from the 4.5 hp one.

It puts out tons of air, is built like a tank(and weighs about as much) and is the quietest compressor i have ever heard. They wernt kidding when they said it was quiet.
