Air Compressor - Good deal?

I need some opinions. Is this a good deal:

Husky 7HP, oil lubricated, 240V, 60 gallon upright, cast iron. It's very slightly used, maybe 2 years old. The guy wants $300 for it.

What do you guys think? I have no feeling for air compressor pricing or quality.

Sounds like a good compressor but id go to home depot and see what its worth new

I've seen similar one's in the HD near me for around $650-700.

I have a Porter Cable 7HP w/ 60 gallon tank and it cost me $400 brand new at Lowes.

My son-in-law has a Husky similar to the one you described but with an 80 gallon tank. Bought it new from Home Cheapo about 4 years ago. It seems to be doing a good job and he uses it a lot.

You might want to see what you can buy a new one for and make an offer based on that.

sounds high , but I'm in new england and don't know the west coast conversion. Try and talk him down and if he moves then go for it and if he doesn't and you really want it, it hasn't cost you for asking.

Thanks guys. A brand new one of similar capacity lists at Home Depot for $429. After some research, it's 7 max hp, 3.5 running hp.

Most air compressors have very over rated HP on them
in fact, they industry that makes MOST of them , lost a law suit in regards to this in last 24 months
Any compressor that originates from a big box store, lowes, home depot

demands, not to mention all the other problems that are associtated with them --
