Air Compressor HELP!!!

Hi, I am new to the site, (GREAT SITE). I came across it searching for information on a used air compressor I recently bought from a friend of mine that just got a new one for christmas. The old one he sold me is a Kellogg model 331. It hasn't been used in quite a while. The belts were missing and the air filter was plugged so I ordered the parts. I then drained the tank, degreased and cleaned the thing up, wired a plug to it and it seems to work. The problem is, I believe there is a valve or something missing on the side of the compressor head because as its running I hear air leaking. It is coming from a threaded hole on the opposite side of the flywheel on what I believe is some type of cone shaped relief valve assembly. It faces down and there is a line going in the top. I have seen this setup on other compressors but I can get a picture to see what goes in that threaded hole on the bottom. I dont want to plug it unless I am sure. I have searched the internet for pics but no luck. If anyone has a compresser like this or knows anything about them please drop a thread. Thanks...
