I have an air compressor that is used for light duty kinda stuff.

I need a new air hose, and I noticed there are several different types:

PVC
Rubber
Polyurethane

Can someone please explain the differences ???

TIA

PVC is inexpensive compared to other materials, but stiff and ill behaved.
Rubber is the next price category and behaves the best but it's also the heaviest.
Polyurethane is light. I'm not sure where it falls price wise and I'm only familiar with short coiled pieces not straight.
There is also "hybrid" hose (Flexilla) which is lighter than rubber and almost as well behaved but possibly the most expensive.
Rubber is probably the most abrasion resistant but the hybrid hose is possibly almost as good.

I use almost exclusively Tundra, very similar to flexilla . more money but light, flexible, behaves nicely, and very good resistance to abrasion. also doesnt mark up stuff ( trim base etc in lived in homes )

Flexilla is the best I have ever used, very light, doesn't fight against you, and nothing works better in the cold.

I did a lot of searching for it, because they are expensive, and finally found a deal here

PVC - avoid at all costs. Horrid stuff.

Rubber - a little unwieldy sometimes, but works well.

Polyurethane - very light...I have one of these for using my air nailers.

I use Flexzilla in the garage unless I need all the pressure I can get, then I use rubber. I've noticed the Flexzilla can "absorb" some pressure and expands/contracts.
