Is there any reason why I couldn't use a hydraulic hose from napa to hook up my compressor to my 1" black iron pipe system? Or is there something better to use?

I'm in the process of doing this also. Called a few places that make houses to order and the prices were CRAZY. Went to murdochs and they source hoses from apache house and belting. They don't stock 3/4 hydr houses but I called them and they have me posts numbers got a 60" house and a 90 swivel fitting. Pricing for the 5' house should be about $30.

Google The Parker Store and see if they have a store in your area. They can make anything according to some folks.

All the farm stores here (TSC, Farm and Home, Runnings) have the 3/4" hoses on hand in just about any length you can use, and prices aren't too bad.

You can certainly use Hydraulic hose, but, unless you can find yourself an already-made used hydraulic hose with ends on it, or, someone is giving you access to the hose and the hose ends for cheap or for free, then you will spend some serious money on that hose, which will be total overkill, since there are probably NO other components of your air system which are rated to anywhere near 1500 PSI, LOL....Is your filter or regulator rated for 1500 PSI?

My local hydraulic hose shop made this hose up for me for $27.

It is Parker 300 PSI, 3/4" ID hose with machine-banded ends on it, one of which swivels.
