Air compressor Install?

One of the more logical places in my shop to install my new 80 gallon vertical. Is on the back wall in front of a window. My question is: Is this a suitable spot or am I taking the risk of causing more water in my lines or will the sun light directly on my air compressor cause any damage? I'm located in North Alabama, we see temps from 20 to 105 degrees. Thank you all for your time

Not really a answer to my question, but I guess a thanks for the advice?

I guess I should add. I also have a window AC unit in said window. I don't run it very often. This window also looks out to the back of our 100+ acre field. Not many peeps peering in.

If the sunlight is shining in your window, you need a blind to keep prying eyes out anyway.

It must be the logical answer. I was going to say the same thing.

If you don't want it in front of the window, then about the only alternative is to set it in front of a wall. Personally, I like looking out over the back 40 sometimes so mine sets beside the window. If you don't want to look out AND want to keep out thieves, put it in front of the window close enough no one can squeeze around.

I think you're not going to get very much information because you haven't given much information.
What compressor is it? If it has a lot of plastic bits, then yes, they will probably age faster because of the sun. However if it's a cheap compressor it probably won't last long, regardless of the sun. A good metal compressor probably won't be an issue (except maybe the belt will age quicker).

I don't think the sun shining through the window is going to have a big impact on the compressor. It may cause the tank pressure to rise slightly and the UV rays may cause the belt to degrade ever so slightly over time. I wouldn't worry about it, put it where it will work the best for you. Oh.. and the paint finish may fade quicker.

Considering a lot of compressors are out in the sun is some of our hotter climates whether fixed or on a service truck, I don't think it is a lot to worry about. I would think about the air conditioner blowing on the hot tank that would **** up the cold and reduced the effectiveness of the AC acting on the room. Do you want the AC to act on the compressor or on the room?

Thanks Larry g, the AC was or has been in the window for years. I probably could do away with it or move it as I don't use it often. Haven't thought much about service trucks, so you pretty much answered my question.
